OPERATION RICE BOWL:  Instead of participating in Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl this year, we are asking families to participate in supporting our parish’s outreach projects in Haiti – the L’Overture Cleary School and the Maison Fortuné orphanage. The collection box for these Haiti ministries will be available in the Commons throughout Lent.

FIRST EUCHARIST:  There will be a First Eucharist planning meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 7:15 p.m., in Room 11 in the Education wing

Catechists and Co-Catechists needed for the following classes:

We are in need of two adults who would be willing to step forward to continue to pass on the faith to the youth of our community. Due to employment, relocation and possible deployments, the following classes need additional assistance.

Wednesday, Third Grade class that meets at 4:30 p.m. This class meets for one hour weekly. We have one catechist in the class and need a co-catechist who can assist each week and be ready to take the class during the times that the catechist must leave early for her job.

Sunday, Seventh Grade class that meets at 6:30 p.m. This class meets twice a month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Due to relocation and possible deployment of the current catechist and co-catechist, we need two adults who can be ready to step in and continue the formation of these young people. This can be done on a rotating basis so that the class is able to continue.

All materials are provided to both catechists and assistants/co-catechists.

Our youth are looking to the adults of the community to help them understand and learn about their faith. Diocesan policy requires that there be two adults in each classroom.  Please prayerfully consider this valuable ministry with our young parishioners. Please contact Karen in the Parish Office as soon as possible so that we are able to resume these classes in January.

All materials are provided to both catechists and assistants/co-catechists.

Please click here "Christian Formation News" to jump to the Christian Formation  (CF) page. Christian Formation "Kicked-Off" Tuesday  September 9, and Sunday September 14, 2008. Sunday evening started with CF students finding their assigned classrooms, brief introductions, handing out of material then off to the main church area for music, prayer and introduction to the 7 Steps to Regaining Passion for our Faith by Dr. Adrian Marchi, PhD. Please enjoy the pictures from that evening that you will find on the CF page. We will be updating this page time to time in order to share how coming to find God and the Good News that Jesus was sent to share with us and how important our Catholic Faith is for us to live each and every day.

  • ADULT SCRIPTURE SHARE BETWEEN THE MASSES: All adults are invited to come reflect on and learn more about the Scripture readings for Sunday’s Mass. This is a great way to either prepare for Mass or to further your understanding of the readings from the day’s Mass. Adult Scripture Share will meet between the Masses in room 10 of the Education Wing on the following Sundays: January 4, 11, 25; February 1, 8, 22; March 1, 8, 22, 29; and April 19, 26.
